Robotics Sports Training

Runs in parallel with the core curriculum, throughout the program.

Overview

Alongside the core electronics and robotics courses, every student trains across a full lineup of competitive robotics sports. Each event builds real-world engineering skill under real-world pressure — designing, building, tuning, testing, and competing — while developing teamwork, strategic thinking, and the confidence that comes from competing on a live field. New events are added to the program over time as the curriculum grows.

Events

  • Robo Soccer

Team-based robots battle to control the ball and score goals, blending mechanical design with live strategy and driving skill.

  • Robo Race

Each student tunes and drives their own robot for the fastest clean lap, testing motor control and driving precision.

  • Robo Sumo

Two robots go head-to-head in a ring, using power, traction, and smart tactics to push the opponent out.

  • Line Follower

Autonomous robots read and follow a marked path using sensors, competing on speed and accuracy.

  • Maze Solver

Robots autonomously map an unknown maze and find the shortest path to the goal, building on sensing and algorithmic logic.

  • Rover Challenge

All-terrain rovers navigate rough, unpredictable ground to complete objective-based tasks, testing mechanical toughness and driving skill.

  • Robo War (Combat Robotics)

Armored robots battle head-to-head with weapons like spinners and flippers until one is disabled — the flagship event, and the exact discipline DS Inventek's founders won their World Championship in.

  • Drone Racing

Students pilot small racing drones through timed obstacle courses, mastering flight control and precision piloting.

  • Submarine (Underwater ROV)

Students build and pilot a tethered underwater robot through underwater tasks, learning buoyancy control and remote operation.

  • Pick and Place

Students build and program a robotic arm to accurately pick up and place objects at target locations — a core skill in industrial automation.

…with more competitive robotics events added to the program over time.
